Race Information

Course for 15 & Over individual Entries:
-400 meter swim
-13 mile bike
-3 mile run

Course for 12 & Over Relay Team Entries:
-400 meter swim (team member #1)
-13 mile bike (team member #2)
-3 mile run (team member #3)

  • -Top 3 overall male and female finishers
  • - Top 3 male and female finishers in each age group:  15-17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44,
  •     45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 70 & over
  • -Top 3 Athena (Women over 165 lbs)*: Two age group categories: 15-39 and 40-over.
  • -Top 3 Clydesdale (Men over 220 lbs)*: Two age group categories: 15-39 and 40-over.
  • - Top 3 Relays : Male, Female & Coed Teams
  • All participants will receive a participation medal and a hi-tec shirt
  • Door prizes (two of which include free car details at Swope valued at 250.00 each)
  • Race Weekend Schedule:

    • Saturday, August 27th, 2016

    • All Saturday Events will be in back parking lot of E'town Swim and Fitness Center. Please park in the lower back parking lot. Participants need to walk through the back gate, around the pool and into the gym.

    • 2:00pm-5:00pm Packet Pickup.  Please Bring USAT ID & Drivers License.   Experienced triathletes can come on Sunday. Body Marking & cap pickup will be done in the gym on Saturday. Race numbers, Bike numbers & Timing Chip Pick-up will be on Sunday morning.

      2:30pm Beginner's Clinic... A special pre-race meeting for first timers will be held during the packet pick-up. This meeting is optional but it's a great way to learn some tips.

      There is no bike drop available on Saturday.

    • There will be a secured bag check area available at 6:30am. This will allow racers to bring clothes and shoes into pool area prior to the swim start. This area will close at noon. The secure bag check area will be upstairs in the membership department.
    • 5:30am Transition Area Opens. Only participants are allowed in the transition area. No spectators are allowed in the transition area. 
    • 5:30am-7:15am Race Day Packet Pickup... Please Bring USAT ID & Drivers License.   NOTE: No race day registration will be available.
      Body Marking, race number, bike number, timing chip & cap pickup are in the gym. If Body Marking & cap was picked up on Saturday go straight to race number table.
      6:45am -7:30am Pool is open for Warm-up
    • 7:40am Pre-Race Meeting (Mandatory)
    • 8:00am Race Start (swimmers will line up according to their race number)
    • Participants are not allowed to take their bikes out of transition area until the last runner is on the course. To take your bike out of the transition area, the bike number has to match the athlete number.
    • 11:00am Awards Presentation (Time may vary)

    Race Start:

    All participants will start in the pool in 5 second intervals. Racers will be seeded for the swim according to their self-reported 400 meter swim time. Racers will be organized into "flights" and seated in the gym until their flights are called to the pool. Flights will be led from the gym to the pool area one at a time. This is a starting procedure that will minimize time spent standing on the pool deck prior to pool entry.

    * USAT Revises Weight Standards:

    The USA Triathlon National Board revised the weight standards for the Athena and Clydesdale weight classifications.

    Effective January 1, 2013 the weight classes will be the following:

    • Athena (female) weight class is now 165lbs and over
    • Clydesdale (male) weight class is now 220lbs and over.
